A 60 mile freestone tributary of the Colorado

The Eagle is a 60 mile freestone tributary of the Colorado. It is know for it’s beauty, prolific bug hatches, and quality wild trout. Eagle River trout are known as some of the strongest, best fighting fish in the state.

Good size Rainbows, Browns, Cuttbows and the occasional Cutthroat inhabit the river. It is not uncommon to catch trout on nymph, streamer, and dry patterns in the same day. The Eagle River is a must fish destination in Colorado.

Frequently asked
questions
Can you describe the wading conditions on the Eagle?
Unlike some of our gravel bottomed tailwater, the Eagle is a cobble stoned slick bottomed freestone. Wading staffs are highly recommended. We don’t recommend this river for anyone with mobility issues.

As a wild freestone and tributary of the mighty Colorado, you could catch a four incher up to a mid 20” bruiser.
