Deckers water is still a little high. The Platte River has experienced significant changes from the sustained high water. Sediments have filled holes and changed flow routes. With that being said, fishing has been ok. I’m seeing Tricos, Blue wing olives and Pmds hatching. My clients are catching good fish although the numbers are down. There are a few trout looking up for drys but the majority are feeding subsurface. Yesterday we picked up a few fish on a large Pats rubber legs and tan worms with a couple taking a small pheasant tail or Pmd nymphs.
The key to high flows is getting your indicator depth and weight adjusted to get down to the trout. If you are not getting strikes try to adjust depth and weight till you start getting strikes. My typical nymph rigs now are a Large stone fly with a tan worm and a small pmd nymph.
